Kevin Looi is Co-Head of Global Investments, Strategy & Risk (GISR) in the Private Equity (PE) department at GIC. In this role, he oversees the various aspects of GISR, in support of the PE CIO.
Kevin joined GIC in 2008 and has worked in several roles in the PE department. Prior to his current appointment, Kevin was Head of Asia (PE) for three years until June 2023. Before 2020, Kevin led the Funds & Co-Investments Group in the Americas, as well as the Special Opportunities Group. While in the United States, Kevin also served as Head of GIC’s San Francisco office. Before his experience in the United States, Kevin worked in GIC’s London and Singapore offices. Earlier in his career, Kevin worked at Bain & Company in Singapore and spent time in a business development role at a technology start-up in the United States.
Kevin holds degrees in Electrical Engineering (BS), Operations Research (MS), and Business Administration (MBA with distinction) from Stanford University. He is a member of GIC’s AI Council and has served as a Director of a number of businesses including Starbucks Korea, Sunway Healthcare, Virtusa, and Works Human Intelligence.
