Dr Wolfgang Schwerdtle is the Head of GIC’s Brazil Office and Head, Direct Investments Group, Latin America (Latam). He oversees GIC’s private equity investments in Latin America and chairs GIC’s Latam Business Group. He is also a member of GIC’s Sustainability Committee.
Wolfgang joined GIC in London in 2009 and transferred to New York in 2011 before moving to São Paulo in 2014. Prior to joining GIC, he worked in private equity at MidOcean Partners and Madison Dearborn Partners in the UK, as well as Cambridge Capital Partners in the US. Earlier in his career, he was an Investment Banking Analyst at Goldman Sachs International, based in Germany.
Wolfgang holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, Philosophy, and Physiology and a Master of Science in Economics for Development from the University of Oxford. He also holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Chicago and a doctorate from the European Business School.
