Shan is Chairman and CEO of PAG Group, a private equity firm with $18 billion in capital under management.
Before PAG, Shan was Co-Managing Partner of Newbridge Capital, a TPG franchise in Asia, and Senior Partner of TPG Capital after Newbridge’s integration with TPG.
Shan led numerous acquisitions and exits at both TPG and PAG and often served on the boards of these portfolio companies as lead director or chairman.
Prior to TPG, Shan was a Managing Director, concurrently serving as Chief Representative for China, of JP Morgan. He previously was an Assistant Professor at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. His former employers include the World Bank, Graham & James Law Firm and Beijing University of International Business and Economics.
Shan received a Ph.D. and MA from UC Berkeley, and an MBA from the University of San Francisco. He graduated from Beijing University of International Business and Economics.
