Lei Zhang is the Founder and Chairman of Hillhouse, a private equity firm focused on investments in the consumer, industrials, renewables and software sectors. He earned his B.A. in Economics from Renmin University and an M.B.A and M.A. from Yale University, where he currently serves as Chair of the Asia Development Council.  Prior to founding Hillhouse, Mr. Zhang worked with Virginia-based equities firm EMM as a research analyst covering Southeast Asia.

Mr. Zhang is a member of the Board of Directors for FCLT Global, an organization of asset owners and companies focused on long-term growth and decision-making.
