Raj Iyer is the Head of Fixed Income & Multi-Asset (FIMA), Europe, and Co-Head of Alternative Credit. Raj is based in the London office.

Raj joined GIC in 2023 to start the Alternative Credit Group, which invests in a broad range of structured finance and corporate credit transactions. Prior to GIC, Raj was Partner and Senior Portfolio Manager at Canyon Partners based in Los Angeles, where he led a team that invested in merger arbitrage, special situations, and distressed credit. Before Canyon, he was a Managing Director at Colden Capital, an event-driven hedge fund, and held roles in equity derivatives at Citigroup and Morgan Stanley. He has served on the Board of Diamond Offshore Drilling, Inc and is the Vice Chairman of the Board at SpecifX, Inc.

Raj holds a Bachelor of Technology in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, a Master of Science in Nuclear Engineering from Purdue University, and a Master of Business Administration from the Wharton School, where he was a Ford Fellow and Palmer Scholar.
